About TapEffect

TapEffect is a new business established to increase access to affordable clean tap water for households across Cambodia. This is a great opportunity to support a social enterprise looking to grow.

Responsibilities

The right person is interested in building their skills in:

Project Management: Take a lead on driving project completion through project planning and scheduling, contractor management, and construction supervision.

Team Leadership and partnerships: Work in a team to deliver outcomes and build TapEffect’s network of contractors and suppliers.

Technical design: Put to practice technical design skills, build technical skills in new areas, deploy new technologies and support the operations and construction of piped water systems.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Engineering: Feasibility studies and design of piped water systems – including network planning, detailed design and drawings, equipment specifications, procurement guidelines, project cost estimation and methods for offsite monitoring.

  • Procurement & Logistics: Procurement of piped water equipment and logistics coordination.

  • Contractor Management: Commercial contract design, sub-contractor selection and management.

  • Construction supervision: – weld test programs, site decisions, site safety, contractor management, site decisions.

  • R&D: Technology research and selection and design of research & development initiatives

  • Project Planning: Understand the project plan and help to implement the activities on time and to budget.

  • Best Practice: Demonstrate leadership to establish systems for best practice for design and construction to ensure that TapEffect is a leader in quality systems, innovation and demonstrating a professional approach.

 

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a team member that:

  • Has an engineering degree (or related) from a leading university.

  • Is motivated to design and build piped water networks – increasing access to water across Cambodia, and building skills in engineering project delivery and operations

  • Has good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Good English and Khmer proficiency
